North Country Food Bank
North Country Food Bank is the sole distributor of surplus food products to over 244 charitable food programs, including our soup kitchens, food shelves and homeless shelters. Other recipients include low-income individuals in need of supplemental assistance, group homes, senior programs, youth programs, addiction treatment centers and domestic abuse programs.
As a non-profit food bank, our primary role is to provide food to the front-line charitable agencies that offer meals to the hungry. We distribute over 4.5 million pounds of food in our 21 county service area annually.
As part of the Feeding America network, we rescue food and non-food items from national and regional manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, restaurateurs and growers. These products are temporarily stored in our facility, and then quickly distributed to charitable agencies throughout our service region.
North Country is able to distribute over 4.5 million pounds of food annually because of our partner relationships with Feeding America, and the other five Feeding America food banks in Minnesota.
